Why do we need to know about Global Warming?
Global warming means to a rise in atmosphere temperatures across the world as a result of harmful human activity such as the production of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases and the release of environmental waste products.
Global Warming causes climate changes which gives us floods, extreme hot or cold weather around the world. As we see extreme weather rapidly growing in number and in intensities all around us, it is clear that climate change is a crisis that must be tackled. But in order to find the solutions, we must know the basics around global warming.
What is the reasons of global warming?
It is a gradual rise in the Earth’s average surface temperature caused by an increase in heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the climate.
- when people burn coal, oil, natural gas for electricity generation, manufacturing, and heating which releases massive amount of carbon dioxide.
- Global Warming is not happening alone because of the increase population. But somehow, they are cutting down or burning forests and removes trees that naturally absorb CO₂ from the air. When trees are destroyed, the stored carbon which released back into the atmosphere.
- Farmers use toxic chemical for fertilizers that release nitrous oxide, a gas with a much higher heat-trapping potency than CO₂.
- All around the world human have established different industries. Those industries manufacture products like cement or decomposing organic waste in landfills.
Does the greenhouse effect on Global Warming?
A greenhouse is a structured designed to help create a controlled, protected microclimate that lets farmers to grow plants more efficiently by trapping solar heat and shielding plants from harsh weather. It is built with transparent glass or plastic walls and a roof that lets sunlight in and traps warmth to protect and grow plants.
Greenhouse releases carbon dioxide and methane gases that cause climate change. In other words, it makes temperature of the Earth’s surface warmer than it was which create global warming.
How can we take action to stop Global Warming?
Everyone has the right to live on a healthy planet. But global warming is a red alert for the world. We can protect our planet and slow climate change, from forests to oceans to everywhere in between.
- we can save energy at home by switching LED light bulb, using energy-effective electric machines, washing cloth with cold water instead of hot water & use hanging things instead of dryer.
- Install solar panels on the roof to generate energy for industries. Switching oil, gas or coal-powered energy to eco-friendly sources of energy, such as wind or solar.
- Living car-free instead of riding car or other vehicles to reduce carbon footprint.
- Electronics, clothes, plastics and other items we buy cause carbon emissions at each point in production. To protect the world we can reuse or recycle, repair things.
- Planting more tree because plants, animals and insects depend on each other.
- Clean up the environment waste which made by us. Educate others to throw or dispose things properly and participate in local clean-ups of parks, rivers, beaches and beyond.
- Talk to our neighbors, colleagues, friends, family and local business owners to switch jute products instead of plastic.
All of us can take a mission to inspire others to learn about global warming and take action to stop it.
